Milwaukee, WI – Kids from Wisconsin is pleased to announce the hiring of Tina Weiss as Director of Development. Tina will work in partnership with newly named Executive Director, Michael Sander to drive the organization’s continued growth. Weiss will be chiefly responsible for the implementation of fundraising through grants, major gifts, planned gifts, direct mail, sponsorship, and partnerships.

Weiss had been the Executive Director of the organization since 2013. Her time with the organization has set the Kids from Wisconsin on a growth trajectory. Most recently she helped successfully lead the organization through the pandemic while simultaneously hiring, onboarding, and transitioning leadership to Sander.

“Tina is perfect for this new position,” said Tim Riesterer, President of the Kids from Wisconsin’s Board of Directors. “Based on the growth we’ve seen over the last seven years under her direction, it’s great that we are able to keep such a talent in the organization to maintain funding relationships with an eye toward increasing sustained and shared, goal-oriented partnerships.”

Tina’s primary responsibilities will be to advance the organizations development goals. Kids from Wisconsin expects to raise approximately 60-70 percent of its needed funding for 2022 through these types of efforts.

“I am thrilled to continue serving Kids from Wisconsin,” said Weiss. “In addition to putting on its iconic show each summer and providing a professional experience for their young performers, KIDS delivers year-round music programming and instruction for underserved communities. I am excited to contribute to the organization’s efforts by ensuring they have the financial resources to provide significant and lasting change in the lives of Wisconsin youth.”

About Kids from Wisconsin

Formed in 1969 by the Wisconsin State Fair to showcase Wisconsin’s best young talent. KFW was a highlight of hundreds of opening acts of famous performers such as Johnny Cash, Cher, etc. at large events, and county fairs.

KFW became an independent 501c3 organization in 1982. The group excelled ever since with Broadway caliber performances in every region of Wisconsin and beyond. Traveling the Midwest, KFW has provided entertainment to multigenerational audiences, workshops to youth and a unique professional touring experience to Wisconsin’s talented, future educators and performers.

Showmanship, Leadership and Partnerships are results of providing workshops, year-round residencies in Milwaukee, and quality entertainment to cities large and small.

Newly formed residencies are a collaboration of unique, experiential programming that uses defined principles to spark and enrich inspiration built upon the traditions and legacy of the KFW and filling a gap in music education.
