Kids From Wisconsin Announces State Wide Auditions
51st Year Auditioning “Wisconsin’s Musical Ambassadors”
Milwaukee— January 3, 2019 — Seeking Wisconsin’s Hometown Students ages 15-20 to represent the talented youth across Wisconsin, proclaimed as “Wisconsin’s Premier Musical Ambassadors”.
Successful auditioning candidates will enjoy a professional summer experience of performing live to over 120,000 people, while touring and providing workshops across the state.
We are seeking your community’s serious performers. All applicants will receive professional feedback at their auditions. 36 chosen performers receive room and board along with a weekly per-diem.
Singer/Dancers and Instrumentalists who have a serious performing interest should apply online at www.kidsfromwisconsin.org. Auditions are slated for: February 15th in Eau Claire, February 22nd in Platteville and February 23-24 in Milwaukee.
“I wouldn’t be the performer I am today without the experience I received as a showman with the Kids From Wisconsin from 1977 – 1980” said Dave Bilger, Principal trumpet at the Philadelphia Orchestra and Yamaha Performing Artist.
“Like I tell all my students – With the Kids From Wisconsin, when you are on the outside looking in you have no idea what you are missing. The experience is life changing! I wish I could be a Kid again.” Said Mike Krofta, 1979-1983 alumnus and band director at Oconomowoc High School. “The Kids From Wisconsin is literally the best group a high school/college musician, or singer/dancer can become involved in.”
70% of Kids From Wisconsin alumni go on to a professional performing arts field.
