Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB) launches Shoe Drive Fundraiser

By - Jan 6th, 2022 12:00 pm

(Milwaukee, WI, January 6, 2022) Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (www.kgmb.org) is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser during January and February 2022 to raise funds for youth and adult environmental education programs and community beautification initiatives. KGMB will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes (no single shoes – pairs only).  Shoes are being collected at the KGMB office:  1313 W. Mt. Vernon Ave., Milwaukee, WI  53233.

All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One entrepreneur in Haiti earned enough to send her son to law school.

“We are excited about our shoe drive,” said Zoe Jump, Executive Director. “Most people have extra shoes in their closets and by donating to us we raise money for KGMB and have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities.”

By donating pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes to KGMB, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives around the world.
