Kathryn Gabor Announces Run for Milwaukee Public School Board – 8th District Seat
Gabor, a staunch advocate for public education including charter schools, believes that parents, teachers, and other front-line school employees deserve more support and a voice in the District's decision making.
Veteran Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) Montessori Teacher, parent, super volunteer, and small business owner Kathryn Gabor has announced her run to represent District 8 (Bay View) residents on the Milwaukee Public School Board in the upcoming April 2, 2019 election.
Gabor, a staunch advocate for public education including charter schools, believes that parents, teachers, and other front-line school employees deserve more support and a voice in the District’s decision making as it impacts the quality of education and programming offered in our schools. She is committed to establishing District-wide standards of accountability toward the successful education of all children including the most vulnerable; putting more dollars back into MPS schools and classrooms while reducing the administrator bloat in Central Office; reducing the student-teacher ratio; expanding supports for classroom teachers; increasing successful 1″, high-demand school specialty programs with long wait lists such as those focused on STEM, the arts, foreign language, and Montessori; and broadening the District’s focus of public education to include a robust, high quality early education system for children younger than age 4 years.
