MILWAUKEE — Judge Jack Dávila launched his campaign today to retain his seat in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Branch 1. Judge Dávila, an active community leader and U.S. Army veteran, was appointed to the bench in April of 2020 by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers.

“I was honored when Governor Evers appointed me to serve my neighbors on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court,” said Judge Dávila. “I will continue to work hard every single day to ensure that everyone who enters the courtroom, regardless of who they are or where they are from, is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”

Prior to serving on the bench, Judge Dávila represented workers, injured persons, and people with disabilities throughout Milwaukee County. He also served in the U.S. Army on active duty for four years after college, based in San Antonio, Texas.

Judge Dávila is active as a community leader with the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association, and serves as a non-practicing consultant attorney to the Mexican Consulate in Milwaukee. Prior to being appointed to the bench he served on the board of Voces de la Frontera Action and volunteered his time at the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic.

Judge Dávila was born and raised in Wisconsin. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School.

Judge Dávila’s mother was a public school teacher and school librarian, and his father worked as a machinist. Both of his parents were proud longtime union members, in Wisconsin Education Association Council and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, respectively. Judge Dávila now resides on Milwaukee’s East Side with his wife and two daughters.
