On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 4:30 p.m., at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, i.c.stars presents StarBash 2023: The Sport of IT, a networking and fundraiser event to support student success and enhance learning in Milwaukee’s tech ecosystem.

i.c.stars is a non-profit organization that develops underserved young adults into leaders in the IT field through an intensive 16-week technology-based workforce development and leadership training program leading to careers in the tech industry.

At StarBash 2023: The Sport of IT, Chief Information Officers (CIOs) from Wisconsin’s top sports teams, i.c.stars interns and alumni, and IT leaders from more than 20 companies will peel back the curtain and reveal insights behind the technology the enhances fan engagement at major sporting events.

Robert Cordova, CIO of the Milwaukee Bucks and Derek Hyde, CIO of the Milwaukee Brewers will join a panel discussion facilitated by TMJ4 Anchor/Report Lance Allan. Questions will be provided to the emcee to help guide the discussion, and a short Q&A.

More than 250 IT professionals are confirmed to attend this technology extravaganza including representatives from Generac, American Family Insurance, Northwestern Mutual, Sargento, Molson Coors Beverage Company, Milwaukee County, Potawatomi, GE Healthcare and more.

]The event recognizes that IT is an important contributor to the increase in fan attendance at sporting events in Wisconsin and around the country. In addition, fan engagement is enhanced through technologies, some of which are apparent and obvious, others that have become intuitive to consumers.

Patrick Glogovsky, manager of the Milwaukee Bucks Professional NBA 2K Gaming League will provide instruction to game like the pros. CIO’s will participate in the ‘Beat the CIO’ Skills Competitions, testing their skills against these powerhouses in our favorite backyard sport activities of cornhole, ping pong, putting and more.

StarBash: The Sport of IT is i.c.stars’ largest fundraiser of the year, with donations supporting innovative growth strategies. The event features Milwaukee Bucks Bango, Bernie Brewer and the Racing Sausages, Milwaukee Panther, the Wisconsin Badgers Bucky and Rosco from the Marquette Warriors.
