By - Feb 26th, 2018 02:47 pm

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is getting underway with the resurfacing of I-894 between National Avenue and 84th Street. The work will rehab the pavement with some base patching and an overlay of the roadway. Work is planned to begin on March 3rd, weather dependent, with a completion date of October. Once completed, the work will add a 4th lane of traffic between the Hale Interchange and the Zoo Interchange.

The project has a number of stage changes which will impact traffic. The first phase will see work taking place in the median area. The phase is expected to be completed by June which will allow for the system ramp in the Zoo IC from westbound I-94 to southbound I-41/894 to be opened to traffic. Phase two will complete the work on the southbound lanes by late August with phase three completing the northbound lanes by October.
