(April 3, 2018, MILWAUKEE, Wis.) – As Janko Hospitality, a Chicago-based operator of upscale, select- and full-service hotels, prepares to open the new Hyatt Place Milwaukee/Downtown, the company has added General Manager Tony Beer to its team.

As General Manager, Beer is responsible for hiring and managing associates, overseeing operations and ensuring guests enjoy their experience at Hyatt Place Milwaukee/Downtown. Prior to joining Janko Hospitality, Beer was general manager at Courtyard by Marriott Milwaukee Downtown for 16 years, and he has worked at various Marriott properties for nearly 30 years.

“Tony’s impressive background and friendly demeanor were driving reasons we wanted him on our team,” said John Brooke, Janko Hospitality COO. “He’s incredibly hands on and always ready to go the extra mile to care for his employees and guests. I’m confident his leadership will deliver authentic hospitality by making a difference in the lives of the guests we serve every day.”

The construction of the new Hyatt Place Milwaukee/Downtown is ahead of schedule, and the hotel is expected to open on June 26, just in time for Summerfest. Located at the eastern edge of Milwaukee’s historic brewery district at 800 W. Juneau Avenue, the contemporary, upscale select-service hotel is just blocks away from the new Milwaukee Bucks’ arena. The hotel’s intimate Coffee to Cocktails Bar and inviting patio will be open to guests and to the public, and features a VIP view of the brand new arena along with a full menu of soups, sandwiches, bar bites, and more.

“Every day is a new, fast-paced adventure, and I’m excited to contribute to the growth of downtown Milwaukee as general manager of the new Hyatt Place hotel,” said Beer. “Plus, the view of the new Bucks’ arena from our bar area makes it all the more exciting!”

The 150-room hotel features contemporary design, advanced technology and 1,721 square feet of flexible meeting space, and its prime location make it the perfect spot for leisure and business travelers. In addition to bright, comfortable and spacious guestrooms, the new Hyatt Place hotel also will offer complimentary breakfast, a business center, free Wi-Fi, smart TVs, a 24-hour Gallery Market, and a spacious fitness center.
