By - Jul 25th, 2022 11:51 am

Alderman Michael J. Murphy, chairman of the Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board, is pleased to announce that grant applications for $10.7 million in funding will be accepted for this cycle starting today – Monday, July 25. $10 million of the available funds are provided via federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars.

Completed applications and all required attachments must be physically received and time-stamped (postmark not acceptable) by the Community Development Grants Administration office, or electronically submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022.   No extensions will be granted.

“The Housing Trust Fund has done an excellent job of supporting projects that provide housing for those most in need, and this is evident by the generous allocation entrusted to the Housing Trust fund by the Common Council,” said Alderman Murphy. “It is important now more than ever for us to assist in the creation of affordable housing, and I encourage interested organizations to apply for these grants without delay.”

The City of Milwaukee Housing Trust Fund was created by the Common Council on September 9, 2006 for the purpose of improving housing conditions for low-income persons in the city and to provide support for non-profit and for-profit developers and governmental entities in the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation and accessibility modification of affordable housing for low-income households in Milwaukee. The Housing Trust Fund was also created to fund services that assist low-income households in obtaining and maintaining affordable housing.
