Healthline First Aid to offer free hands-only CPR training on Feb. 17

Greenfield, Wis. – To raise awareness for American Heart Month, Healthline First Aid in Greenfield is offering free hands-only CPR training sessions on Saturday, Feb. 17.

“More than 350,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of hospitals every year,” said Andrew Berger, owner of Healthline First Aid. “We are seeing an alarming increase in young people — including athletes — experiencing cardiac issues. We want to train more people to respond to those medical emergencies and ultimately save lives.”

The community training sessions, which will also cover how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED), are for people who are interested in learning CPR basics without obtaining certification.

“We offer certification courses for those who need it for their jobs, but community training is also incredibly important,” said Berger. “You don’t have to be a paramedic to administer CPR or use an AED. It’s actually the people who witness the cardiac event who can have the most tremendous impact on their loved ones’ survival. Minutes — even seconds — can matter.”

The training sessions are free and will last one hour. Space is limited, and advanced registration is required:
