Gratitude and optimism on cusp of new Common Council term
Statement of Alderman Lamont Westmoreland April 4, 2024
I want to express my sincere gratitude to the voters in the 5th Aldermanic District who chose me to continue serving as their representative on the Milwaukee Common Council. Your trust in me gives me great confidence to continue to do the work that is needed to make our district the best that it can be, and to work for the overall betterment of the entire City of Milwaukee.
With the array of diversity we will have on the new Council (most African American members in the city’s history, and the most women members in history), we have the potential to do great things in the very near future, and I am excited to be a part of it. I believe our diversity makes us stronger and better suited to serve the needs of everyone who calls Milwaukee home.
In my view, a diverse Council for a diverse city is a very good thing, and I am looking forward to working closely with my colleagues as we roll up our sleeves and do the important and rewarding business of moving Milwaukee forward.
