Governor Evers Orders Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Milwaukee Police Department Officer Matthew Rittner
"This loss is also a reminder that men and women like Matthew put their lives on the line every day to protect our citizens and communities in Wisconsin."
MADISON – Governor Tony Evers today ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff in honor of Officer Matthew Rittner, of the Milwaukee Police Department, who died in the line of duty on Wednesday, February 6th, 2019. The order is effective immediately and ends at sunset on the date of interment.
“Kathy and I send our thoughts and sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Officer Matthew Rittner, the entire Milwaukee Police Department, and the people of Milwaukee as they mourn this tragedy,” Governor Evers said. “This loss is also a reminder that men and women like Matthew put their lives on the line every day to protect our citizens and communities in Wisconsin. We are grateful for their bravery and call to service.”
