Gov. Evers Signs Bills Relating to Employee Contracts and Funding for Homelessness

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today signed seven bills into law. The governor acted on the following bills:

Assembly Bill 119, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 76:

  • Provides criteria for the Department of Administration to award grant funds allocated in the state budget for homeless shelters;
  • Modifies code to allow the maximum award to be 50 percent of an organization’s total current or proposed operating budget;
  • Removes a provision in current law that prohibits awards from being granted to a facility or private home that provides shelter for victims of domestic abuse;
  • Requires the Department of Health Services to request a Medical Assistance waiver or state plan amendment from the federal government to allow the program to provide intensive case management services; and
  • Directs the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority to pay $1 million from its surplus to the general fund.

Assembly Bill 706, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 77:

  • Ratifies the collective bargaining agreement for University of Wisconsin- Madison employees in the building trades crafts collective bargaining agreement for fiscal year 2018-19.

Assembly Bill 707, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 78:

  • Ratifies the collective bargaining agreement for University of Wisconsin- Madison employees in the building trades crafts collective bargaining agreement for fiscal year 2019-20.

Assembly Bill 708, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 79:

  • Ratifies the collective bargaining agreement for University of Wisconsin System employees in the building trade crafts collective bargaining agreement for fiscal year 2018-19.

Assembly Bill 709, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 80:

  • Ratifies the collective bargaining agreement for University of Wisconsin System employees in the building trade crafts collective bargaining agreement for fiscal year 2019-20.

Assembly Bill 710, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 81:

  • Ratifies the collective bargaining agreement for state of Wisconsin employees in the building trade crafts collective bargaining agreement for fiscal year 2018-19.

Assembly Bill 711, now 2019 Wisconsin Act 82:

  • Ratifies the collective bargaining agreement for state of Wisconsin employees in the building trade crafts collective bargaining agreement for fiscal year 2019-20.
