Gov. Evers Orders Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Former Wisconsin Fire Inspector David Jerald Tomlinson of the Poynette-Dekorra Fire Department
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers signed Executive Order #107 ordering the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff in honor of former Wisconsin Fire Inspector David Jerald Tomlinson on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021. David Jerald Tomlinson passed away on Dec. 6, 2020 after contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.
“Fire Inspector Tomlinson served his community as a volunteer firefighter for 31 years, and most recently served as a Fire Inspector. Before that, he contributed to his community by working for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years and as a fixture in local youth sports,” said Gov. Evers. “We are thankful for his years of service, and our thoughts are with Fire Inspector Tomlinson’s family, friends, and the Poynette-Dekorra Fire Department.”
A private family service will be held on February 12. Executive Order #107 is in effect from sunrise to sunset on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, and is available here.
