Girls on the Run welcomes new staff and board members
GOTRSEWI has school programs in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington and Racine Counties.
Girls on the Run of Southeastern Wisconsin (GOTRSEWI), a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in 3rd to 8th grade, is pleased to announce the following new additions to the non-profit headquartered in Milwaukee:
Dara Dawn LaMere has been named a communications and special events coordinator and Michele Kitson Ikusz is the new development director. LaMere, of Oak Creek, has a degree in Marketing and Corporate Communications from Buena Vista University. Kitson Ikusz is from Pewaukee. She has a BA in Theatre and French from Cornell College and an MBA in Consulting, Entrepreneurship and General Management from Wake Forest University.
Nicole Deschler Piwowarczyk and David Garcia have joined the GOTRSEWI board of directors. Piwowarczyk, who lives in Franklin, is an account manager for UPS and has a BA in Organizational Communications from UW-Whitewater. Her board term began in September 2018 and runs through August 2020.
Garcia, of Grafton, is an associate principal at La Causa Charter School. He has a BA in Italian from the University of California, Los Angeles; an MA in Teaching from the University of Southern California, and completed the Educational Administration Program at Concordia University. Garcia’s board term started in October 2018 and runs through October 2020.
