Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee County Supervisor District 7 candidate Stacy Smiter announced a campaign focused on crime and prevention, property tax accountability, housing affordability and accessibility, senior services, parks investment, and transportation, shaped by a personal journey of accountability, education, and community leadership.

Earlier in his life, Smiter served time in prison for marijuana offenses. After taking responsibility, he rebuilt his life through education, real estate, and service to the community.
He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Management, became a licensed real estate broker and educator, and was later granted a Governor’s pardon in recognition of his rehabilitation and contributions.

Now, he is running for Milwaukee County Supervisor.

My story is about accountability, growth, and service, Smiter said. I rebuilt my life through education and community work, and I’m running to focus on the issues families are dealing with every day safety, housing, taxes, seniors, and access to opportunity.

Smiter’s campaign centers on the priorities residents consistently raise:

Crime & Prevention

Holding repeat violent offenders accountable while investing in prevention, youth intervention, and community safety strategies.

Property Taxes & Government Accountability

Ensuring residents see measurable results from the taxes they pay through stronger oversight and transparency.

Housing Affordability & Accessibility

Protecting homeowners, supporting renters, and expanding access to affordable and accessible housing options.

Seniors & Essential Services

Protecting senior programs, ensuring access to care and services, and supporting aging in place.
Parks & Neighborhood Investment

Strengthening parks and community spaces that support youth, safety, and neighborhood stability.

Transportation & Access

Expanding reliable transportation to connect residents to jobs, healthcare, and opportunity.

I understand what happens when systems fail people, and what it takes to rebuild, Smiter said. This campaign is about creating safer neighborhoods, stable housing, strong services for seniors, and real accountability for tax dollars.

Smiter is currently available for media interviews.
