Free Virtual Version of On The Nature of Wisconsin Art Exhibit Launched Online
Lovers of Wisconsin art and nature can take solace in this feature exhibit from anywhere via this virtual experience
Milwaukee (April 20, 2020) – The online doors to The Warehouse’s virtual art exhibition of On the Nature of Wisconsin have been opened today. This free virtual exhibition of the show is now accessible online via computer and mobile device through The Warehouse’s website and social media pages.
Featuring work from the permanent collection of The Warehouse, On the Nature of Wisconsin is a celebration of Wisconsin artists and their relationship with the natural world. Focused on a state known for its fresh water, forests and parks, this exhibition examines the connections artists have made and observed with these surroundings. Included works depict sweeping landscapes, quiet farm life, reimagined plants and animals, and objects exemplifying natural forms. The exhibition features the work of 40 artists is curated by Dr. Annemarie Sawkins, guest curator. It had been mounted at The Warehouse from January through March.
During these unprecedented times, both art and the natural world remain important mediums for mindfulness and stress-relief. By offering a virtual version of the On the Nature of Wisconsin exhibition, The Warehouse hopes to provide individuals with access to these mediums from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Updates to the virtual exhibition, with guided tours and added pieces, will be made periodically.
