Rep. Clancy Decries Removal of Yessenia Ruano by ICE
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement action is cruel and arbitrary
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – This morning, Representative Ryan Clancy (D-19), attended an action in protest of the deportation order for Milwaukee mother, Yessenia Ruano, at US Citizen and Immigration Services’ offices in Milwaukee. Yessenia has been in the United States for 14 years and over that time she has checked in with U.S Immigration and Customs enforcement (ICE) 17 times. Yessenia has a husband and two twin daughters, who are 9 years old. She is ordered by ICE to leave the country by June 3rd.
Rep. Clancy issued the following statement:
“It is wrong and harmful for the Trump administration to forcibly remove Yessenia from our community. She has built a life here in Milwaukee that includes volunteering at her local Catholic Parish, working at her neighborhood school, and most importantly taking care of her family. Yessenia is an asset to our community whenever she touches it. Our community and her daughters deserve to continue to have Yessenia with us here, and Yessenia deserves to continue to build a thriving life with her family in Milwaukee.
