Fitzgerald Statement on Passage of Debt Ceiling Legislation

By - Apr 26th, 2023 06:51 pm

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald released the following statement in response to the passage of the Limit, Save, Grow Act:

“From the start, House Republicans have been clear that we cannot raise the debt ceiling without cutting wasteful spending and putting our country on a sustainable fiscal path, said Congressman Scott Fitzgerald. Despite offering to negotiate responsibly months ago, President Biden has been unwilling to come to the table. I voted for this legislation because it would reduce the deficit by $4.8 trillion over the next ten years, stop excessive spending in Washington, and put our country’s economy back on track.”

Scotty’s salary is wasteful spending. Treasonous bastard.

That Fitzgerald’s party has been responsible for the over $2 trillions dollars of the deficit that net less the $1 return on that 2 trillion, he claims they are the party of fiscal responsibility. RRR (radical reactionary republicans) call any funds that support education, working families, health care, and safe housing is wasteful, but huge tax breaks and subsidies for the wealthiest are not. Fitzgerald is not for Wisconsin.

  3. kaygeeret says:

    Oh those reactionary, crazy repubs……

Bush Jr. inherited a budget excess with no deficit. He piled up a huge deficit thru a god awful war and massive tac CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY!

Enter the former guy and he increases the deficit by a huge amount. Yes covid had a part to play, but yet again the reactionary, crazy repubs give yet ANOTHER BIG OL’ TAX BREAK to the already MASSIVELY WEALTHY.

Let us not forget that the big corporations were included in both immoral tax cuts.

And so it goes in an oligarchy.
