Fatal shootings leave police seeking unknown suspects

Statement from Alderman Khalif J. Rainey May 6, 2021

By - May 6th, 2021 10:39 am

Milwaukee Police are in search of those responsible for two fatal shootings that have taken two teenage boys in the 7th Aldermanic District in recent days.

In the first case, police are looking for the suspect who shot a 15-year-old boy near N. 37th and W. Marion at approximately 5:20 a.m. on Sunday, May 2.

The incident happened in an alley and the circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

In the second case, a 16-year-old was shot and killed near N. 50th and W. Burleigh on Wednesday (May 5) at approximately 10 p.m. Police are searching for an unknown suspect in that case as well.

The devastating effects of gun violence in Milwaukee further emphasize our community’s obligation to provide safe environments for all children to learn, grow, and prosper. The community grieves the passing of these young men and our deepest sympathies lie with loved ones and friends experiencing the loss of the victims.

I strongly encourage the community to help bring justice in both of these cases. Anyone with information is asked to contact Milwaukee Police at (414) 935-7360 or Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-Tips or P3 Tips App for a cash reward.
