MADISON – Job seekers, employers and other members of the public are invited to visit one of 18 Wisconsin job centers taking part in a statewide open house on Wednesday, Sept. 27.

These open houses, held in partnership between the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and its regional workforce partners, will showcase the wealth of resources and information that Wisconsin’s job centers offer to anyone seeking help with job searches, career exploration, recruitment assistance, and a variety of other services.

“September is Workforce Development Month, and with new monthly statistics showing growth in the state’s labor force and record total number of jobs during August, now is the perfect time to see what your nearest job center can offer,” DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek said. “From career exploration and training to help finding skilled workers for your business, our dedicated job center staff help tens of thousands of people every year achieve their workforce goals. Come to the open house and be the next Wisconsinite to achieve your recruitment or career goals.”

This year’s open house theme is workforce participation. Several participating sites are hosting adjoining events that demonstrate the range of services offered through local job centers, such as workforce resource fairs, employer-centered activities and mobile job center services. The 18 participating sites are among more than 40 job centers across the state operated in partnership with Wisconsin’s 11 workforce development boards to serve local communities.
