Elderly Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Milwaukee Crash; Driver in Custody

Milwaukee Police are investigating a crash that occurred on Wednesday, August 26th , 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., on the 500 block of W. North Avenue. A vehicle was travelling westbound on West North Avenue when it struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the street on North 5th Street. The pedestrian, a 75-year-old, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, where they ultimately succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 77-year-old, remained on scene and was taken into custody regarding this incident. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
