MILWAUKEE COUNTY – The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County’s young professional group, Echelon MKE, is hosting its annual gala next month to engage young professionals in the fight to end homelessness. “Milwaukee Goes Miami” will be held on Friday, March 22 at Vue, the stunning top floor of the Hyatt downtown Milwaukee, where guests will experience a comprehensive view of the streets below; streets where many in Milwaukee call home.

Amongst the palm tree and flamingo décor, guests will be greeted with information on homeless outreach services and ways to engage in ending the homeless epidemic. Guests are encouraged to wear an 80’s themed outfit, and will have the opportunity to purchase Echelon sunglasses to entice them to see the world through a different lens. All guests will be welcomed with a red carpet and a Miami themed signature drink, complimentary loaded appetizers, a cash bar, and a DJ spinning 80’s hits. The event will also feature professional salsa dancers and the ability to watch the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Miami Heat.

Money raised from the event will fund Meaningful Makeover, an annual spring tradition for Echelon MKE, in which they update two rooms at the Salvation Army of Milwaukee County’s Emergency Lodge and provide dozens of outfits and makeovers to its residents. The programs and services at the Emergency Lodge allow for more than 80 percent of its residents to move into safe, affordable housing each year.

Tickets are expected to sell out and can be purchased online at www.EchelonMKE.org. Interested sponsors can contact Sarah Tomcyzk or Alison Cefalu at echelonmke@gmail.com.
