DWD Equal Rights Case Portal Adopts MyWisconsin ID

MADISON – The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development‘s Equal Rights Division has been added to the list of agencies using MyWisconsin ID for access to state resources.

Complainants, respondents, and legal representatives who were previously given access to the Equal Rights case portal via a DWD ID will need to register for a MyWisconsin ID to access and track case information starting Wednesday, Dec. 13. The change comes as more agencies migrate their online services away from individual login processes to the more universal MyWisconsin ID.

MyWisconsin ID is a single personal account that gives users secure private access to participating Wisconsin government resources. MyWisconsin ID is a personalized email-based ID that offers advanced security in a single sign-on solution. MyWisconsin ID is beneficial to users as it replaces numerous account credentials eliminating the burden of having to remember multiple logins for each individual interaction with the state.

Equal Rights joins the Department of Children and Families, Department of Financial Institutions, Employee Trust Funds, Department of Corrections, Office of Commissioner of Insurance, and others in using MyWisconsin ID for at least one service.

Other DWD applications, including the Equal Rights online complaint filing system and minor work permit application will slowly migrate to MyWisconsin ID. The migration to MyWisconsin ID for other agencies, including other DWD divisions, will happen over the next four years. Until more DWD resources begin using MyWisconsin ID, it may be necessary to use multiple sets of credentials to access multiple state resources. However, as resources migrate to MyWisconsin ID, users will be able to access those services with a single MyWisconsin ID account.

]The DWD Equal Rights Division has developed step-by-step instructions for how to register for a MyWisconsin ID. Those instructions and other helpful resources, including an FAQ page, can be found on the equal rights website. When registering for MyWisconsin ID, users must select multifactor authentication (MFA) preferences, and the FAQ page helps explain what MFA is and why it is necessary.
