MILWAUKEE (September 20, 2023) – Experience the senses of fall at the second annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee presented by WaterStone Bank on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Red Arrow Park, featuring the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the season. Produced by Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, this family-friendly Halloween-themed event features giveaways, activities, and fun for all ages, especially children ages 2 – 10.

The first 500 guests will have the opportunity to pick out a free pumpkin from downtown Milwaukee’s only pumpkin patch, sponsored by Metro Market and Pick ‘n Save fulfilled by Kroger Delivery, starting at 11 a.m. At 12:30 p.m., a kid’s costume parade, led by Mayor Cavalier Johnson and the Extra Crispy Brass Band, will loop around Red Arrow Park.

Families can listen to live musical performances from Frogwater at 11 a.m., Mariachi Monarcas de Milwaukee at 11:45 a.m., and the Extra Crispy Brass Band at 12:30 p.m. Other activities rounding out this pumpkin palooza include story time with Wanda the Wise Sandwich, a Halloween-themed character from The Pocket Lady, at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; story raps with Wes Tank at 12:45 p.m.; and professional pumpkin carving demonstrations.

Throughout the event, kids can participate in free face painting, pumpkin painting with Artists Working in Education, bubble play time, character meet-and-greets with beloved movie characters, and a walk-through of the Milwaukee Fire Department’s Survive Alive House.

Sweet treat vendors include Cottonmouth MKE, Doughnuttery Mayfair, Pop’s MarketPlace, and Weston’s Antique Apples. Food trucks will also be on-site for lunch options, plus a book sale from Friends of the Milwaukee Public Library.

“Fun for the entire family never ends in Downtown Milwaukee,” said Beth Weirick, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21. “Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee has become a beloved family tradition to celebrate Halloween and the harvest season, both for Downtown’s growing residential population and the greater Milwaukee community. And the best part, it’s completely free!”

Family-friendly costumes are encouraged for all guests. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information on Downtown Milwaukee’s Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee presented by WaterStone Bank, visit https://www.milwaukeedowntown.com/bid-events/jack-o-lantern-jubilee.
