Danceworks Announces Hiring of Julia Gray As Executive Director
March 08, 2021, Milwaukee, WI — Danceworks, Inc. announces the hiring of Julia Gray as Executive Director. Gray joined the organization on Feb. 22nd.
“She is a very experienced leader who is passionate about the mission and vision of Danceworks,” said Rick Krueger, Danceworks Board President. “We’ve already got a fantastic staff, and the addition of Julia’s strategy, operations, fundraising and nonprofit experience will take the organization to another level. She will be able to jump right in and make a positive impact.”
“This role is the perfect marriage between my nonprofit leadership experience and my youthful passion around dance,” said Julia Gray, Danceworks Executive Director. “I grew up taking dance and later served in roles that instilled the importance of access to movement. It’s very exciting to be able to serve something I grew up loving, and make dance accessible to more people.”
Danceworks serves more than 55,000 children, adults and seniors each year. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Danceworks has continued to offer both in-person (socially distanced) and virtual based studio classes, performances, and community outreach programs. The organization looks forward to returning to additional in-person programming as CDC regulations permit.
The previous Executive Director, Deborah Farris, served Danceworks for 18 years.
