The Milwaukee County Courthouse will be open from 9am to 1pm on Saturday, June 7th to allow couples to receive marriage licenses.
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee County Courthouse will be open from 9am to 1pm on Saturday, June 7th to allow couples to receive marriage licenses. The Courthouse stayed open until 9pm on Friday.
Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele said he will personally pay for any overtime costs associated with keeping the Courthouse open.
The Register of Deeds (ROD) will be in the courthouse Saturday morning to assist persons who need to purchase a copy of their birth record for the marriage application process. Since the ROD cashiering system is turned off for the weekend, payment for birth record copies can be made in cash (exact amount, no change given) or personal check (Saturday only). The cost is $20 for the first copy and $3 for each additional copy purchased at the same time.
Couples interested in getting married should use the entrance off of Wells Street, between 9th and 10th Streets.
