County Supervisors Hosting Washington Park Senior Center Town Hall Meeting on Proposed Sales Tax Increase

MILWAUKEE — County Supervisor Peter Burgelis, along with 1st Vice Chair Sequanna Taylor and County Supervisors Felesia A. Martin, Shawn Rolland, and Priscilla E. Coggs-Jones, will hold a town hall meeting on Tuesday, July 18, to discuss the proposed 0.4% increase of Milwaukee County’s sales tax.

Recognizing the significance of the upcoming vote, the group expressed in a joint statement their commitment to community engagement:

The proposed 0.4% sales tax increase is a crucial matter for Milwaukee County, and we highly value the input and perspectives of our constituents. This town hall meeting will serve as a vital platform for us to listen, discuss, and gather feedback. We are determined to make informed decisions that truly reflect the needs and concerns of our respective districts. 

Having County officials present at this town hall will further ensure that residents’ questions are answered, accurate information is provided, and comprehensive insights are shared. The Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors is expected to vote on the proposed sales tax increase at their next meeting, to be held on Thursday, July 27, at 9:30 AM.
