County Supervisor Coggs-Jones Announces her Committee Assignments
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County Board Supervisor Priscilla E. Coggs-Jones shared her excitement to serve the public as the Chairwoman of the Transportation, Public Works, and Transit Committee, the Vice-Chairwoman of the Health Equity, Human Needs, and Strategic Planning Committee, and as a member of the Committee on Economic and Community Development.
“I am deeply touched and inspired by Chairwoman Nicholson’s confidence to appoint me to serve as Chairwoman of the Transportation, Public Works, and Transit Committee, and Vice-Chairwoman of the Health Equity, Human Needs, and Strategic Planning Committee. I extend my deepest respect and appreciation for all members and am truly grateful for their support. As we move forward to make Milwaukee the greatest city and county to live in, let us remember that while we cannot change everything at once, we can choose to work together wisely and transparently to revitalize our community.”
Supervisor Coggs-Jones’ leadership roles were expanded in 2022. The Transportation committee is tasked with overseeing the construction and maintenance of county highways, airports, bridges and public structures, as well as setting policy for mass transit. The Committee on Economic and Community Development oversees the administration of federal, state and local housing programs in the County, including the Urban Community Development Block Grant Program. The Health Equity, Human Needs, and Strategic Planning Committee oversees behavioral health, aging, housing, and many other County services. Her appointments were made by Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Nicholson to further the County’s vision for equitable governance.
