Condolences to the family of Andrew Tyler

Statement of Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II - December 8, 2017

By - Dec 8th, 2017 09:38 am

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of school crossing guard Andrew Tyler, who passed away after suffering critical injuries when hit by a reckless hit-and-run driver early last month on the northwest side. The family needs the love and support of the community right now, and I encourage acts of comfort, kindness, and generosity on their behalf.

Mr. Tyler was a well-respected and kind man who loved keeping children safe as they walked to and from school. It is a tragedy that his life was cut short by a reckless driver who is too cowardly to face the consequences of his/her actions.

The Milwaukee Police Department is actively searching for the reckless driver responsible for Mr. Tyler’s death. The police are looking for a burgundy, 4-door, 1997-2001 Buick Park Avenue or LeSabre. I urge anyone with information to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360 immediately.
