Communication files target storm response, COVID procedures

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs has introduced two communication files that will be heard by the Public Works Committee at its next meeting tomorrow – Thursday, September 9th at 9 a.m.

The first file is #210655 – Communication from the Department of Public Works and We Energies relating to their policies for responding to power outages as well as their response to recent storm events. The file is aimed at getting more details on the response to the recent string of storms that caused widespread power outages, fallen trees and more.

The second file is #210698 – Communication from the Department of Public Works providing an update on safety procedures and practices in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to those who work in or visit City facilities.

“These communication files are in response to timely issues that have impacted, and continue to impact our community. I look forward to a thorough and transparent discussion around these items at tomorrow’s committee meeting,” Alderwoman Coggs said.

Tomorrow’s Public Works Committee meeting will be televised live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
