At the upcoming meeting of the Judiciary & Legislation Committee on Monday, September 14th at 1:30 p.m., the committee will hear two communication files sponsored by Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs. The first is file # 200574 – Communication from the Milwaukee Election Commission providing a report on the Fall Primary Election and its preparations for the Fall General Election.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to adapt in regards to how we conduct our elections. I look forward to discussing how we performed in the Fall Primary Election, what lessons we learned, and how preparation is going for the Fall General Election,” said Alderwoman Coggs.

The committee will also hear file #200626 – Communication from the United States Postal Service relating to recent changes to the mail delivery system and the effect they will have on services provided to the City of Milwaukee.

“Recent funding cutbacks to the United States Postal Service have led to strain on residents, small business owners and can potentially impact the November 3rd election,” Alderwoman Coggs continued. “It is important we have an open and transparent conversation about what these cuts mean for service delivery in the city.”

The Judiciary & Legislation Committee meeting will be televised live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
