Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic to Address Sustainability Summit
March 4-6 Summit to Focus on Climate, Energy, Water, Food and Health at Wisconsin Center
Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic will address the Sustainability Summit on environmental sustainability on Thursday, March 5 at 8:30 a.m.
Since elected in 2004, Chairwoman Dimitrijevic has been an outspoken leader in environmental sustainability. She successfully authored the award-winning Green Print resolution which has reduced Milwaukee County’s environmental footprint and saved taxpayer dollars. Due to her efforts, Milwaukee County has an environmental sustainability director and a new environmental ethic.
Dimitrijevic recently authored legislation to construct a solar farm at Milwaukee’s Mitchell Airport which would supply clean energy and create green jobs. Recently, Chairwoman Dimitrijevic successfully led an effort to attract more riders to public transit by adding new service to suburban job centers and providing free rides to disabled and older adults.
