Celebrate International Women’s Day with Cozy Community, Creativity & Connection with Bars & Rec at The New Fashioned

Milwaukee, WI – February 24, 2026Bars & Recreation invites the community to slow down, get cozy, and celebrate International Women’s Day at a feel-good gathering designed to uplift, inspire, and connect. Taking place Sunday, March 8 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at The New Fashioned (1122 N. Vel R Phillips Ave. Milwaukee), this relaxed daytime event blends creativity, comfort, and purpose while supporting Friendship Circle of Wisconsin.

Guests are encouraged to come exactly as they are—pajamas, leggings, sweats, or cozy-chic favorites welcome. The morning is all about embracing your authentic self in a warm, welcoming atmosphere filled with hands-on activities, thoughtful moments, and easy conversation.

Attendees can look forward to:

  • Mini canvas and kindness rock painting
  • A Fireplace Lounge Swap (“take one, leave one”) for books, puzzles, games, & yarn
  • A DIY blend-your-own simmer pot station
  • Shopping from women-owned businesses including Kendra Scott, WaxPub Candles, The Well Red Damsel, Nourish Natural Products and more
  • A continental brunch grazing table and complimentary beer & cocktail samples throughout the space
  • Cash bar drink specials including mimosas, Bloody Marys, and Jack Honey Lemonade
  • A curated silent auction
  • Photo-worthy moments
  • Three hours free parking, if parked before noon in the Highland Garage (1030 N 6th St).Partial proceeds from the event, including the silent auction, benefit Friendship Circle of Wisconsin, a nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities and their families through social, recreational, and life-enriching programming. Friendship Circle creates spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected values that align beautifully with the spirit of International Women’s Day.
