Case closed: Northridge takes legal step forward

MILWAUKEE – Today the City of Milwaukee is pleased to share that the Circuit Court ordered the matter against the former Northridge Mall closed, following the Court of Appeals dismissal of the appeal of the raze order for mootness last month.
The previous owners’ challenges to the raze orders have been fully dismissed. The initial raze orders date back to 2019, marking today the closure of five years of litigation.
“I’m focused on the future of the old Northridge site. I see potential here – potential for a development that will serve the neighborhood well. And, the entire city will benefit when this location is, once again, activated,” Mayor Cavalier Johnson said. “I greatly appreciate the hard work and diligence of all the city staff who have brought us to this point.”
