Ever thought of being your own boss? Find out how to go about it at the free Business Incubator Workshop presented by Launch MKE and BizStarts. The 90-minute event begins at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care-Bucyrus Campus, 2450 W. North Ave.

Aspiring entrepreneurs will learn how to evaluate a business idea or strengthen their existing business. Other topics include identifying customers, branding and messaging, product and service distribution, startup needs and costs.

“The business incubator gives entrepreneurs the support they need for their idea and makes business ownership accessible to everyone,” said Ald. Russell W. Stamper II, chair of the Milwaukee Common Council’s Community and Economic Development Committee. “This will help Milwaukee’s north side businesses expand and ultimately revitalize the community.”

Following this introductory workshop, participants will have access to BizStart’s coaches, mentors and resource network and Launch MKE’s 10-week Business Academy. That program, offering hands-on training in business planning and operations, begins the week of January 20 and meets 10 evenings based on the number of participants.

Pre-registration for the Business Incubator Workshop is required, and space is limited. Refreshments will be served. To sign up or to learn more, email contact@launchmke.org or call (262) 243-4365.
