Call for Speakers Closes March 29 for Mpact Transit + Community Conference
Minneapolis, MN – February 29, 2024 – The Call for Speakers for the 2024 Mpact Transit + Community conference in Philadelphia is now open, through March 29. Information about how to submit is available at mpactmobility.org/speakers.
Individuals working on all aspects of transit, multimodal options (such as bicycling, walking and micromobility), supportive land use and development are encouraged to submit proposals to be speakers at the 2024 conference, which will be in Philadelphia, PA, October 20-23, 2024. The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, March 29, at midnight Hawaii time.
The Mpact Transit + Community conference is the largest gathering in North America of leaders, practitioners and advocates focused on building great places to live around transit. For 30 years, the conference (formerly called Rail~Volution) has shaped the vision for transit-oriented communities, in which people of all backgrounds and abilities can connect with each other and reach the places they need to thrive. The conference focuses on the whole community built around transit and multimodal investments, from the modes themselves to housing, business and economic development, including the implications for health, safety, equity, sustainability, access to opportunity and overall quality of life.
The 2024 Call for Speakers is looking for proposals that speak to the challenges facing transit-oriented communities. Individuals submitting proposals are asked to indicate how their work provides solutions to one of the following questions:
- How are you solving funding gaps?
- How are you solving for quality of life issues?
- How are you solving for access and mobility?
- How are you building a knowledge and action base?
- How are you building complete communities?
- And do you have a burning issue or critique for the 2024 Mpact PK Slam?
The Mpact Transit + Community conference is produced by Mpact, a national nonprofit organization. The Local Host Committee for the 2024 conference in Philadelphia is co-chaired by SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC).
