“Brady Beach Announces Two Upcoming Events”

Milwaukee— 8/30/23 — The popular “Brady Beach” street activation will be a very beach-y scene for a couple of Sunday afternoons of fun starting Sept 3rd with Reggae Sunsplash this weekend and a Barbie-themed beach party on Sunday Sept 17th.

The afternoon of reggae vibes starts with DJ Marcus Doucette at 1pm this Sunday, followed by live music from local reggae favorites The Urbanites taking the stage from 4-7pm.

The Nomad kitchen staff will also be cooking up some island fare with BBQ jerk chicken plates in addition to drink specials at both bars.

“We are excited to bring some live music, dancing, and a little fun to the beach to celebrate the holiday weekend on Brady Street,” said Club Brady owner Mike Lee.

Also announced is a Barbie and Ken Beach Party slated for Sunday, Sept 17th complete with a dunk tank for Barbies to dunk Kens and vice versa, dozens of baby pools to splash around in, DJ’s playing beach vibes and a “beachside BBQ.” The event also includes “Best Dressed” prizes for Ken, Barbie, as well as the character Allen from the current smash hit Hollywood movie.

“We thought the Barbie beach party would be a great, goofy way to celebrate the inevitable end of an incredible summer for the Brady Street neighborhood,” said Mike Eitel, Nomad’s owner.

The popular pilot program for activated streets started in 2020 in a partnership with the two adjacent taverns and the City of Milwaukee.
