Bay View Gallery Night & Jazz Fest
Friday June 1st 2018
Join us for Bay View Gallery Night (BVGN) on Friday June 1st for an evening of exploring the Bay View community and great Milwaukee art talents. 57 local businesses will host hundreds of local artists & musicians for the evening, highlighting the creative community and great spaces of Bay View.
In addition to BVGN’s traditional offerings this spring’s event will feature Bay View Jazz Fest. In it’s fifth year, BVJF is the city’s one and only all-free jazz festival. 12 locations will host 24 bands from Milwaukee, Chicago, New York and Madison with no entry fee at any of the venues. Featured acts are the Kevin Hayden Band, Hanami (Chicago), and Sam Neufeld Trio (NYC).
Highlights of the evening’s events include Food Truck Friday in Morgan Park – stop by for a bit to eat from over 15 local trucks and stands and enjoy the food and local music from Bembemke. Also not to be missed is Brinn Labs, headquarters for Maker Faire Milwaukee and home to a variety of classes and workshops to help you get hands on and learn new skills. Another feature is the Jackson Redmon Popup at the Magnet Factory, celebrating the launch of Jackson Redmon Art Investments with a group show of outstanding Milwaukee art talent and a performance from the Juli Wood Trio. And if you haven’t been yet, or even if you have, check out the open house at the Lincoln Warehouse that’s full of great local businesses and artisans including more jazz fest performances at Twisted Path Distellery.
The Makers Market is continuing its season in the Colectivo Coffee lot featuring over 30 local vendors and includes a performance by the Brett Westfahl Quartet.
