Madison… The leaders of the Assembly Republican caucus released the following statement after the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents rejected the deal after months-long negotiations to achieve compromise.

“It’s a shame they’ve denied employees their raises and the almost $1 billion investment that would have been made across the UW system, all so they could continue their ideological campaign to force students to believe only one viewpoint is acceptable on campus.”

It’s a bigger shame that the Legislature thinks it should stick its nose into the policy making of a University which it funds at increasingly lower levels. Congratulations to the Regents for representing their constituency.

  2. misch7 says:

Funny how Vos created this mess, then decides to give UW-Madison $32 million and his Alma Mater, UW-Whitewater a whopping $78 million. Also, this is where he in a landlord to many college kids. What a scam! Almost like Foxconn, hey Rob?

  3. jkmoch says:

So let me understand this – the Republicans say they are pro business; businesses want and need diversity in their workforce; the Republicans ideologically reject efforts at diversity; is this anti-business? are they hypocritical? I guess I don’t understand this thinking – their is not clear, logical and consistent. Hmmmm?
