Another young life lost to deadly violence
Statement from Alderman Joe Davis, Sr. June 15, 2015
A 19-year-old man who was shot while sitting in a vehicle in the 6200 block of W. Villard Ave. (in the 2nd Aldermanic District) on Saturday night has died.
The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating the homicide, yet another in our city that has taken a young life because someone chose to illegally use a firearm against this victim at the scene of this violent crime.
The shooting took place in a normally stable and quiet neighborhood, and now property owners there are very concerned – and rightfully so – and some are thinking about moving out of the neighborhood and the city. Sadly, this deadly violence is like a broken record in Milwaukee, repeating itself over and over, and now creeping into neighborhoods where it hasn’t been, or very rarely been, before.
When will it stop?!
We MUST come up with a solution to this problem, which is impacting the quality of life in otherwise stable neighborhoods and which will also have a long-term impact on our city’s image and budget by creating a deluge of vacant properties with a dwindling tax-base.

Great…..so even the mayoral candidate doesn’t have a solution. One would think that if his anger was sincere he’d have a press release with possible solution.
