Milwaukee Ald. José G. Pérez invites residents to the Walker Square Action Plan kick-off meeting on Thursday, March 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at MATC’s Walker Square Campus, 816 W. National Ave.

This meeting will give community members the opportunity to offer input on the Action Plan for the Walker Square neighborhood being prepared by the City of Milwaukee’s Department of City Development.

The Action Plan will address housing, public spaces, commercial areas, and bicycle and pedestrian concerns. Attendees will learn more about the planning process and will be able to offer recommendations for improving the neighborhood.

Alderman Pérez encourages everyone to come out, learn about improving the neighborhood, and share ideas and concerns about the area.

“It is important that the residential and commercial development in the Walker Square neighborhood continues,” Alderman Pérez said. “It is equally important that the community’s input and recommendations be included in the Walker Square Action Plan, and this meeting will allow for the community’s voice to be heard.”
