Ald. Coggs introduces communication file to discuss response to recent storms
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs has introduced file #210655 – Communication from the Department of Public Works and We Energies relating to their policies for responding to power outages as well as their response to recent storm events. The file is aimed at getting more details on the response to the recent string of storms that caused widespread power outages, fallen trees and more. The file will be before the Public Works Committee at a future meeting, and city officials will be on-hand to discuss how, where and when staff was deployed in response to the bad-weather events.
“In addition to power outages the recent storms Milwaukee has experienced caused trees and other debris to obstruct public right of ways and damage property all across the city,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “My hope with this communication file is to discuss the totality of what happened, how the city responded, and identify any areas in which we can improve in the future.”
Residents can report an issue in need of city service by calling 286-CITY (2489), visiting https://milwaukee.gov/ucc and using the Click for Action tool, or by using the MKE Mobile Action app.
