Action needed at dangerous intersection

Statement of Alderwoman Larresa Taylor May 17, 2024

By - May 17th, 2024 03:11 pm

It saddens my heart that I have had to ask for a traffic study at the intersection of N. 95th St. and W. Brown Deer Rd. – but something must be done to improve safety as soon as is possible.

My condolences go to the family of a woman who died near the intersection Wednesday after the vehicle she was driving hit a tree and rolled over.

This is a dangerous intersection. We know this after incidents and crashes there over the past several years, and after two accidents at the intersection happened just a day apart last year.  I urge drivers to please pay attention to the traffic lights and slow down until something can be done to make this intersection safer. This is also an intersection and area that is heavily frequented by pedestrians who deserve to be able to navigate safely and without threats from vehicles.

Please slow down and be an attentive driver! It will make our community safer for everyone.

Why would an Alder need to issue a press release to request a traffic study and implement changes to a dangerous intersection?
