Acacia Hosts Award-Winning Scholar
MILWAUKEE (October 22, 2025) – Teacher, author, consulting editor and award-winning scholar of British literature, Dr. Sørina Higgins, will give a short talk before Acacia’s performance of Freud’s Last Session on Saturday, October 25th at 6:45 PM. The talk is free, but an RSVP is required, which can be made at 414-744-5995 or by emailing office@acaciatheatre.com. Higgins has taught at various universities and at the graduate and undergraduate levels, illuminating the lives and work of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and Charles Williams. “When I was [at Acacia] for their production of Williams’s The House by the Stable,” recalls Higgins, “I had a marvelous time.”
Higgins received a Clyde S. Kilby Research Grant from the Marion E. Wade Center for her forthcoming book The Oddest Inkling: An Introduction to Charles Williams. She previously wrote and recorded C.S. Lewis: Writer, Scholar, Seeker, an Audible Original from The Teaching Company. Currently she’s teaching an independent course on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
