A Weekend To Celebrate!
Fresh from their European Tour, the Fine Arts Quartet returns to Milwaukee for two winter concerts.
Fresh from their European Tour, the Fine Arts Quartet returns to Milwaukee for two winter concerts: Saturday, January 29 at 3:00 pm, and Sunday, January 30 at 3:00 pm at the UW-Milwaukee Zelazo Center. Pretalks are scheduled for 2:00 pm.
A Saturday public concert added!
In a creative response to the changes required by COVID, the Friends of the Fine Arts Quartet has expanded opportunities to hear the Fine Arts Quartet. In addition to the previously scheduled concert on January 30, another concert has been added at the Zelazo Center on January 29. The large hall allows for better social distancing, as we follow all COVID precautions. The protocol requires proof of vaccination against COVID-19, or proof of negative test within 72 hours — with a valid ID. A mask fully covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times.
If you can’t make the live concert, stay tuned for the online event
Both of the concerts will be recorded. After professional editing of the videos, excerpts of the concerts will be available online.
Free concerts, thanks to the Friends of the Fine Arts Quartet
Since 2018, the Friends of the Fine Arts Quartet has raised the funds for these annual returns to Milwaukee. The concerts themselves are free, reducing overhead and expanding our audience. A winter campaign ensured the success of this January set of concerts. Plans for a week-long festival in the summer of 2022 are underway. (Dates to be announced.)
More than 110 donors contributed to this last community-based campaign. You may contribute to the Friends as well by visiting the site of our nonprofit partner and fiscal agent, Arts Wisconsin at the Friends donation page
