2023-24 DNR Sustainability And Business Support Report Released

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced the release of the Sustainability and Business Support section’s 2023-24 report.

The report highlights the department’s work to support Wisconsin’s businesses and local governments on their path to sustainability and the accomplishments of organizations that partner with the DNR to create a healthier environment.

Report highlights include:

  • A manufacturer in New Berlin that built a new, carbon-neutral headquarters
  • A Calumet County dairy producer enhancing environmental practices to improve efficiency and reduce its footprint while improving yield
  • A new statewide partnership bringing businesses, local governments and other organizations together to collaborate on climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience efforts
  • Insights from a Spooner company on how partnering with the DNR helped them better understand how to manage their environmental performance
  • How one northern Wisconsin community became a leader in renewable energy and how another in central Wisconsin views sustainability as an essential service driving their activities

The report also includes stories about how Sustainability and Business Support serves customers, including:

  • The over 240,000 interactions DNR’s Small Business Environmental Assistance Program had with customers
  • How those working with Sustainability and Business Support benefit through risk management
  • The opportunities that Sustainability and Business Support coordinates for peer-to-peer learning
