MILWAUKEE – Thursday, September 11, 2014 – The 6th Annual Milwaukee Film Festival, presented by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, is thrilled to announce the opening of its festival Box Office, presented by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Beginning today, the general public may purchase tickets to individual films online, in person at the Landmark Oriental Theatre Box Office, and by phone. Patrons may also search for films by name or keyword, view films by program, sort by show times and view trailers, using the new mobile-friendly online film guide.

Last year’s Milwaukee Film Festival experienced a record 64 sold-out screenings. Anticipating even larger crowds, Milwaukee Film highly encourages festival goers to purchase tickets well in advance and to arrive thirty minutes prior to showtime to guarantee seating. Beginning 15 minutes before each film, empty seats will be sold to patrons in the rush ticket line. Rush tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets for the Opening Night Party are now also available for purchase, though admission is complimentary for passholders and patrons with a ticket to the opening night film, 1971. The party features a multi-floor experience with food, music, drinks, and dancing.

“This year’s Opening Night Party is all about film and community. We’re celebrating at a new venue — UW-Milwaukee’s Kenilworth Square East — just around the corner from the Oriental Theatre and are thrilled to bring our audience, donors, and sponsors together to open our wonderful film festival,” explains Jessica Bursi, Development Manager at Milwaukee Film.
