Experience the glitz and glamour as you head over to Potawatomi Hotel & Casino for the Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s 22nd annual Puttin’ on the Ritz fundraiser. Enjoy a night of gourmet food, drinks, a live voice auction and amateur boxing arranged by the Future Olympian Boxing Association. Boxing bouts are sponsored by Master Z's, and the boxing ring is sponsored by Bridgewood Advisors. Last year’s event raised over $201,000 for the Zoological Society and its support of the Milwaukee County Zoo. Cost: $200 per person, $2,000 for a corporate table sponsorship or $3,000 for a corporate ringside table sponsorship* (includes 5.6 percent WI sales tax).

When Caroline, a veteran social worker, removes infant Luna Gale from the custody of her struggling young parents, the best course of action seems clear and Baby Luna is placed temporarily with her devoted grandmother. However Caroline quickly realizes that the situation is more complicated as she uncovers a shadowy and secretive family past. Struggling with the limitations of an overburdened bureaucracy, Caroline is forced to make a risky decision with potentially dangerous consequences. In conjunction with the 55th annual Milwaukee NARI Home Improvement Show at the State Fair Park Exposition Center in West Allis, Wis., the Milwaukee NARI Workforce Development Committee and the Milwaukee NARI Foundation will host a free job fair for those looking to secure a career in the home improvement and remodeling industry. Scheduled for Thurs., Feb. 16, from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., the job fair will feature 30 different Milwaukee NARI members exhibiting opportunities for immediate employment. “This is an excellent opportunity to learn about and secure great jobs with good wages and benefits,” said Andy Pouchnik, Milwaukee NARI Workforce Development Committee chairperson and owner of Ironwood Builders in Muskego. It is anticipated that positions in the following disciplines will be available: • Cabinet Makers • Carpenters • Drywall Installers • Flooring Installers • HVAC • Landscapers • Painters • Roofers • Masons • Plumbers • Siding Installers • Window Installers • Designers • Interior Designers • Draftsmen • Sales Representatives “Whether you’re a journeyman, laborer, or hobbyist, if you have an aptitude for remodeling, and are willing to learn, this is a can’t-miss employment and career opportunity,” Pouchnik said. “If you have related skills and an excellent work ethic, Milwaukee NARI members are looking for you. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resume and a positive attitude, plus dress appropriately. The remodeling season is ready to boom and Milwaukee NARI contractors need workers today.”
