Current Contours Opening Reception
Current Contours featuring new works by gallery artists, Tony Conrad, Dale Knaak, Rob Neilson, Melissa Dorn Richards, Stefani Quam, Sara Willadsen, and William Zuback at Arts Mills in Grafton, Wisconsin. Since the closing of the Frank Juarez Gallery in December 2015, this exhibition brings them back together and celebrates the works of these talented artists. Works on exhibit will range from sculpture to photography, drawings to installation, and projection to mixed media.

Count Dracula is dragged out of retirement to stop Hitler from using a magical device that can make him and his army immortal. Actors Chris Flieller and Doug Jarecki play over 20 characters in this madcap comedy that catapults you around the world, to and from an alternative universe and back home again! The Panther Prowl 5K is UW-Milwaukee’s premier race event. All proceeds support UWM student scholarships. We hope you will join us for the 12th Annual event and participate in this long-standing tradition at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Registration fee includes a short-sleeved technical shirt, race bib, and entertainment. Stop by the Sponsor Zone area after the race to sample snacks and beverages from local Milwaukee businesses. Early Music Now presents Fretwork, celebrating their own 30th anniversary with a program centered on 16th century English works for viol consort by Byrd, Gibbons, Lawes, Purcell, Taverner, and Tye, along with a 1995 work of Gavin Bryars and the North American premiere of a composition by Nico Muhly.

We will be featuring one of John Rutter’s masterpieces, his Requiem. Written after the death of his father, this work takes the listener from the sorrow of loss to the consolation, reconciliation, and ultimate joy of resurrection. Rutter’s tender and moving Requiem has earned its reputation as one of the most popular choral compositions of the last 40 years. Along with works by two of America’s emerging choral voices, Dan Forrest and local composer Penny Corris, the words and music of hope and assurance will take you to a serene and tranquil state of mind.
